I have long wished to express my deep gratitude for all the benefits I have received from Christian Science. I had been more or less delicate all my life, and in 1897, shortly before hearing about Christian Science, I had a complete breakdown from enlarged glands, etc. I had also suffered ever since I was a child from neuralgia, bronchitis, stomach and bowel troubles. I also suffered every winter from chilblains, which caused me much discomfort, and for which I tried many material remedies without finding any relief. With Christian Science treatment I was healed in a fortnight of the bowel disorder, the severe headaches and swollen glands, and later of the chilblains. Though I am sometimes attacked by bronchitis and neuralgia, they are quickly overcome by Christian Science treatment. I have never taken any material remedies since then, though before that I had to take medicine every day. A few years ago I had nine teeth extracted, but with the help of a kind practitioner I did not suffer afterward, and experienced scarcely any discomfort or soreness in my mouth.

I am deeply grateful for the physical healing, but am more so for the happiness which Christian Science has brought into my life, and for the spiritual understanding of the Bible. I belonged formerly to the Church of England, and though I always loved the Bible, it was very difficult to understand how God could be just when there was so much misery and sin in the world. I am truly grateful to Mrs. Eddy for all that she has done, and for our Christian Science literature, which is such a help and comfort to me in my daily life.
