Jesus' words to the father of the little maid, "Be not...

Jesus' words to the father of the little maid, "Be not afraid, only believe," have been a wonderful help to me in the study of Christian Science, for I have learned that fear is indeed one of our greatest enemies. I am truly grateful that I am now able to overcome it, and I wish also to express my gratitude for the many other benefits which I have experienced through an understanding of this truth.

Some months ago I was suffering greatly from severe and chronic stomach trouble. I was taking medical treatment under a specialist, but seemed to be getting worse instead of better. I was unable to eat any solid food, was very nervous and could not sleep. The doctor thought I had ulceration of the stomach, and I became greatly discouraged. At last I was advised to try Christian Science, but I did not have much faith in it. As a last resort, however, and thinking it could not do me any harm, I decided to try it. After three weeks' study, and with the help of a faithful practitioner, I was entirely healed. Headache, rheumatism, throat trouble, and many other ills came up, as if to tempt me, but all were overcome. The truth of this Scripture, "Casting all your care upon him [God]; for he careth for you," is being proven to me each day. My earnest desire is that I may gain more of this understanding, and prove my gratitude to God, also my thankfulness to Mrs. Eddy for showing us the way to our Father's house.
