Having received so many benefits from Christian Science,...
Having received so many benefits from Christian Science, I am earnestly desirous of expressing my gratitude first for the better understanding of God, and of His love for man, which formerly had seemed little more than a beautiful dream. It is now nearly four years since I first looked into Mrs. Eddy's book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." I was then in a wretched condition, mentally and physically; my husband had just passed on, and my means seemed to me very small to bring up a family. I had fallen into a nervous condition, the nights being a positive dread to me, and the first help which I had in Science was in being able to put out my light at night without the dread of nameless fears and sleepless hours. Later on, a kind practitioner helped me to overcome the worry over supply, and in an incredibly short time, as it seemed to me, all my fears and worries ceased. Though my income is small, it always seems sufficient to meet every actual need, besides having something to spare for others; and though I have had many problems which at first seemed hard to meet, the sense of ever-present Love has always given me strength.
I would also like to tell how at a time of great sorrow Christian Science brought to my home a deep sense of peace and harmony. As I look back, it is wonderful to remember how calm and quiet every one in the house was, although a dear one had passed on. My gratitude to our dear Leader for her work is unbounded, and I hope my testimony may be helpful to others. I would like to add that, with the understanding of divine Truth, I have found the joy of living, both in health of body and peace of mind; also that our supply has been unfailing. I have also had the privilege of helping others as I have been helped. My gratitude to our dear Leader is indeed great for the understanding of the Bible she has given to us through "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
