That the power of God heals the sick, as taught in Christian Science, I have had abundant proof. Many who know little about the Scriptures find, after beginning the study of the Christian Science text-book, that the Master's words and works no longer belong to a bygone age, but are as truly available and applicable at the present hour as in his day. I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science and my love for the one who has given to a long-suffering world this perfect Science through which may be gained the knowledge of Him "who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases." Like many others, I did not take up Christian Science until it was the last resort. When all "other gods" had failed me, I turned to the one true God and was healed.

After more than a year of failing health, in the fall of 1907 my illness became more serious and I was confined to the bed for several weeks. Although I was under the care of a most faithful physician during all this time, I received no permanent benefit, but rather grew weaker, suffering from extreme nervousness, a very disturbed heart-action, and a serious cough. Fearing tubercular trouble, my physician advised a change of climate, in order to avoid the trying cold of February and March. The change was planned and I started for Florida, accompanied by a friend who cared for me during our stay of two months. Soon after arriving at our destination I was again confined to my bed, and a physician was called who diagnosed my trouble as a form of goiter, characterized by enlarged eyeballs and inordinate action of the heart. These symptoms were manifest in a serious degree, and in addition to these were nervousness, sleeplessness, extreme exhaustion, and great loss of flesh. I was receiving no benefit from the change of climate, and my husband came to Florida to accompany me back home, which I reached in a much worse condition than when I left it, two months previous. I was then under the care of a trained nurse for eight weeks and gained slightly, but soon all the symptoms assumed a more aggravated form, and it was then that Christian Science was brought to our attention. We immediately sought the aid of a practitioner, who commenced to treat me in September, 1908. At the end of four months I was so much improved in every way that treatments were discontinued. Christian Science had done for me that which no doctor could do, for I was free from the goiter and all of its distressing symptoms. Each day I gained in strength, and in one year I found myself well and able to endure as much as ever in my life before, and I have had no return of the former disease.

I send my testimonial to what Christian Science has done for me, that others who are suffering may know they can get helpe through divine Truth, and as in none of the testimonials given in our periodicals have I ever read of a healing of this disease. We have had many other proofs of the truth of Christian Science, as we have relied absolutely upon it during these years, and every ill that has come to our family has been completely overcome.
