In February, 1911, I was suddenly taken ill with severe pain in my side and lungs, also in my head and neck. I could not speak above a whisper, and there was considerable sense of fever. My husband called a practitioner of Christian Sciewnce, who came to me about two o'clock in the afternoon, and sat by me, as I lay on the sofa, silently declaring the truth. I feel asleep, and awoke about an hour afterward. I sat up, feeling relieved, and then fell asleep. When I woke up again, I was much better, and lay down and went to sleep again. When I woke up about half past four the fever was gone, moisture was on my hands, and I could breathe much better. Next day I was able to move without pain. In two days I was up and in the next room; in two days more I was doing my own work, and in a week was back in the shop where I supervise the making of muslin curtains. Considering the intensity of the pain, I am most grateful for the relief given by Christian Science and the speedy recovery to health. The greatest benefit derived, however, was in my consciousness; that had been confused, but during the treatment all became clear. I learned from this experience that God's idea can never be separated for a moment from the one Mind, which is God, and the consciousness of divine Love took away all sense of suffering and left me at peace.
I have had many proofs of the efficacy of Christian Science in healing sickness and discord, during several years, and am very thankful for the blessing it has brought us all.
