It is with a heart full of gratitude to God for Christian Science, that I tell of what it has done for me, hoping it may help some one who may read of my experience. It is nearly three years since I was led to this healing truth for the cure of a tubercular condition of the knee which the doctors claimed to be hereditary in my case, and from which I had suffered for a year. During that time I had been under the care of two of the best physicians in town, who put the knee in a plaster cast, which was worn constantly up to the time of my healing in Christian Science. I was not allowed to be on my feet for three months, then by the aid of crutches and cane was able to get around the rest of the time.

I had used a cane about three months at the time I came to Christian Science for healing, but after seven weeks' treatment in Christian Science I took off the cast, discarded the cane, and could walk any distance without discomfort. I also had the use of the joint, which was rigid before, and which medical law said I would never be able to bend again; but, thanks to God for Christian Science, the joint is now perfectly normal. During the treatment for lameness I was also healed of three other troubles, one a chronic ailment from which I had suffered continually for twenty years. It was very distressing at times, but after I accepted Christian Science it simply vanished. Several years ago I had an operation for appendicitis, and a very painful condition followed which the doctors claimed was caused by adhesions and could only be remedied by an operation. But that also vanished, as well as defective vision for which I had worn glasses for eight years. One morning I forgot to put on my glasses, and I have never needed them since. One by one the ills have gone, and I know of my own experience that God heals all our diseases.

I am glad for this seemingly slow healing, for during the time I was led to study Christian Science, and oh, the joy of what I found,—man as the expressed image and likeness of God! I was helped to gain such an understanding that I have been able to demonstrate many things for myself and others. Not a day passes but that there is some proof that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health, p. 494). I am grateful to God for my healing, and for the love and help I have received. I am also grateful to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has brought this wonderful truth to us.
