Christian Science has healed me of many physical ailments,...
Christian Science has healed me of many physical ailments, for which I am very grateful. I am learning to rejoice for every opportunity given to prove the healing power of Truth and Love. For the past nine years Christian Science has been our only physician and has met every need. I am grateful for the privilege of knowing, at least in part, that divine Love is operative in all, throughout the universe, and that it is destroying the antagonism and false beliefs about our revered Leader and her publications.
Some four or five years ago I spent a month in a small western town. It was a month of sorrow and trial, a testing time, as it seemed. I heard nothing but criticism and condemnation of the teaching of Christian Science and of Scientists. Recently it was my privilege to visit again this same town, and with but one or two exceptions every person I met wanted to know something about Christian Science, being eager and anxious to know of its healing power. Just previous to this last visit my sister had had a serious sickness. The family physician was called, and after spending some time with her he said that he was going to leave her some rather strong medicine, but that she should not take it unless she felt obliged to do so; that she had better read Science and Health instead. My sister, who is not a Christian Scientist, told me she was surprised to see how quickly she was able to be up. She said she never touched that medicine, and added, "I am surprised at myself. I really feel better than I have for saveral years."
Thus is our courage renewed, as these experiences prove that the time is near of which Jesus spoke when he said, "Look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest." They also prove that divine Love is ever active and ever operative; that Truth is destroying false concepts; they also show that God is good and doeth good and His every thought expresses love and power.
