From a heart filled with love for God and gratitude for...
From a heart filled with love for God and gratitude for Christian Science, I wish to tell what Truth has done for me. I was a brewery salesman for over ten years, drank and smoked to excess, and was unable of my own will to stop, although I had often tried, and many a night have I lain down and cried, thinking there was no help for me. At last my wife induced me to attend a Christian Science church and listen to the truth, and there I found what I had been seeking. Within six months I had resigned my position with the brewery and sold a saloon which I owned, and I have not drank or smoked from that time until now, nor have I had a desire to go back to the old life.
I am now a traveling salesman, and I never leave for a trip without the Bible and Science and Health in my grip, as they are my only true companions, for I have learned through the study of these books that I am never alone, since God is ever present with me; and I know that divine Love is watching over those dear to me, when I am away from home. We have had many beautiful demonstrations of the power of truth, for which I am deeply grateful.
I am so truly thankful for the peace which has come to me through the study of the Bible and Science and Health, that I am trying each day to live the life exemplified by Christ Jesus, and I know that divine Love will show me the way.—Harry N. Banks, Denver, Col.
