While sitting alone one evening, reading the Sentinel and pondering over the many beautiful testimonies, a deep sense of gratitude and love came to me for Mrs. Eddy, the Founder and Leader of Christian Science, for giving us "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," not only because I myself have received such benefits, but also because all who will may come and drink of the water of life freely. For three years I was an invalid, said to have an incurable disease. My limbs were deformed, also my hand and arm, but these have all been straightened out through the truth taught in Science and Health and through the loving patience of a dear practitioner. After eight weeks my cane was laid aside, never to be used again. I have been able to realize the truth clearly enough to know that divine Love meets every human need, and thereby I have been enabled to go to housekeeping, knowing that in God is my strength and activity.

All this has not been accomplished in a short time; I have many struggles with self, but I find as I lay off old thoughts,—pride, fear, anxiety, sensitiveness, and so on,—I am being made stronger every day. I am truly grateful for the physical benefits, but I am even more grateful for the understanding of God, and of man's relation to Him as far as I understand it. It is my earnest desire to know more of God and to have more of the Christ-mind.
