The following is an account of the healing of my wife, formerly of Providence, R. I., New York, and now of Manila, P. I. For seventeen years she had been under the care of doctors in different parts of the world, but not any of them could cure her. Five doctors in Providence told her they could not help her; one in Bristol, R. I.; several in the three best hospitals in New York; also one doctor in Mobile, Ala. They all said the same thing, namely, that she had stomach and bowel complaints, gall-stones, and a serious condition of the kidneys. She refused to have them operate on her because I was at sea, and I thank God for this. She then came out here to Manila, and the three hospitals here in which she was treated are claimed to be of the best. The doctors said she must have all of the operations which had been prescribed by the others, if she wanted to live.

I then bought her a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and from the time I gave her the book she commenced to get better, although she was having her stomach washed out every morning; but she did not take any medicine, and began to eat any kind of food. So I took her out of the hospital and she went to a Christian Science practitioner for treatment. From that time her sickness took wings. Now it would not be possible to find two happier people than we are, and I give thanks to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, for all of it. To any one who wants the particulars of my wife's healing, I will gladly give them. I would like our friends, and the doctors who attended my wife, to know that she is well and happy and strong, all through Christian Science.
