The healing of a member of my family led me to attend...

The healing of a member of my family led me to attend for the first time a Christian Science Wednesday evening meeting, and the memory of that night will ever be with me; it was indeed a feast of good things, such as I had never before experienced. To me it was also an assurance of divine guidance. I did not come into Christian Science for healing, but soon had occasion to ask for help of a kind practitioner, and the trouble was quickly met. One who was near and dear to me was suffering from a condition so terrible that it kept me in constant dread. It did not occur to me at first that Christian Science could help this particular case, as the trouble was an abnormal appetite, such as I had never heard of. It included a desire for straw, wool, wood, etc., and the victim was brought to death's door. Her physician, after bringing all his skill to bear upon the case, advised a strait-jacket; another physician said an operation would be necessary, as it would be impossible otherwise to dislodge the wool from the stomach. I spoke to the Christian Science practitioner in regard to the case, and she answered that to God all things are possible. She took the case, and after some months of patient loving work the apparent mountain of trouble was laid low, and the patient was restored morally and physically.

Three have been many other cases of healing in my family, and I am truly thankful to God, also to Mrs. Eddy, for Christian Science. It has made life worth living.
