I cannot express in words the thanks I owe to God, also...

I cannot express in words the thanks I owe to God, also to Mrs. Eddy, for having been spared to take care of my little ones. But for Christian Science I would not be with them, and I write this testimony hoping that Christian Science may help some other mother as it did me. When our baby boy was born we employed a physician, for whose kind attention I am deeply grateful. The child got along nicely, but I did not. Everything seemed dormant, and finally fever set in. The doctor changed the medicine, but I still grew from bad to worse. We heard through a Christian Science friend that a practitioner was coming to our town to visit, but by the time she arrived I was in an alarming condition. I could not retain the medicine, and the nurse said I would not recover unless there was a change before night.

I dismissed the physician and began to take Christian Science treatment, with the result that in a few days I was able to sit up; when suddenly an eruptive disease set in, with almost unbearable pain in the stomach and bowels. I could no longer see to read, but I clung to Truth and repeated what passages I had memorized from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," especially the one on page 421, "I insist vehemently on the great fact which covers the whole ground, that God, Spirit, is all, and that there is none beside Him." I listened to the dear, untiring friends who were with me, giving forth the word of Life, until error gave way to Truth and I rapidly grew better. In a few days I drove eight miles to the home of a Christian Scientist, where I stayed for one week, then went home with my husband, three little girls, and my baby boy held in my arms. I was a well woman!

This was two years ago. In this time some ailments have been quickly met for the little ones, and they are stanch Christian Scientists, Blessing has been added to blessing, while the spiritual healing and happiness in our home is more than all else.
