To Christian Scientists, Mrs. Eddy is a most remarkable and lovable woman. They appreciate more than words can tell what she has done and is doing for the welfare of humanity. Loyal Christian Scientists recognize Mrs. Eddy as the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, and the natural Leader of this great movement, but they do not look upon her as a superhuman being to be worshiped; nor do they consider her their "spiritual mother." She has always discouraged personal worship, and some years ago requested Christian Scientists not to call her mother.

In her book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 464) she says: "The author has labored to expound divine Principle, and not to exalt personality." A knowledge of the Science of being, gained through the teachings of Christian Science, unfolds to mortals the spiritual fact of one creator and one creation, one Father-Mother God, who is infinite Spirit. Mrs. Eddy is now numbered among the world's greatest women.
