Science and Health says, "Christian Science brings to the body the sunlight of Truth, which invigorates and purifies" (p. 162). The truth of this statement was made manifest in me four years ago. I turned to Christian Science for the physical healing, but found much more than just a cure for bodily aches and pains. All of my life I had been termed delicate, and my many efforts to accomplish some good in the world were handicapped by ill health. Finally I was put upon the most rigid diet, and after suffering one whole winter, receiving all the time treatment from five doctors, I turned to Christian Science and was entirely healed in three weeks. After the first treatment in Christian Science and two hours' talk, the world and everything in it seemed flooded with sunshine, and I found that "the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear."

The healing seemed very wonderful to me, it came so steadily and surely; but even more beautiful was "the peace of God" which came to me, that peace which the world can neither give nor take away, and which is the real evidence of God's presence and power. I have no words to express the gratitude I feel for Christian Science.
