Christian Science is nothing more nor less than scientific...

Los Angeles (Cal.) Express

Christian Science is nothing more nor less than scientific Christianity. There is, therefore, nothing in it or about it apart from the ministry of the Master. In no sense of the word can it be classed as even remotely akin to methods which deal with suggestion. Furthermore, Christian Science, or the Science of Christ, presents itself as one complete whole, and a recognition of any good in it must mean its recognition as a whole, because it is without logical antithesis.

In view of the definite and emphatic statement of Jesus: "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also," there can be no question that the Christian religion has a very definite message in the relation of faith to health. The works of our Lord and Master in healing all manner of disease and sin, and his oft-repeated statement, "According to your faith be it unto you," leave no room for doubt as to our duty as his followers. This is the very import of the message of Christian Science. It is reestablishing primitive Christianity in all its purity and grandeur, and restoring lost faith in the power and availability of God's word to heal all manner of sickness, and to elevate and spiritualize human thought.

All too long has this healing gospel been lost, but since Mrs. Eddy gave her discovery and demonstration of Christian Science to the world, it is being restored. Respecting the course of this healing gospel she says, "As the ages advance in spirituality, Christian Science will be seen to depart from the trend of other Christian denominations in no wise except by increase of spirituality" (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 21). This should clearly show that Christian Science cannot be associated with any present-day teaching, aside from Christianity itself, of which it is the essence.
