With a grateful heart I send my testimony, hoping that it may be of help to some one else. In June, 1908, I first came to Christian Science for help. For several years previous to that time I had suffered from a distressing nervous condition, besides a bowel disorder and female trouble. After having medical treatment for some time, and not getting any relief, the doctors said I must have an operation. So I went to Los Angeles, and was operated upon in one of the hospitals; but after several weeks I returned home in really a worse condition than when I left.

Some weeks later I was advised by friends to try Christian Science. I had been very much opposed to what I thought Christian Science was, and had gone so far as to say I thought it the work of the devil; but finally I made up my mind to try it. I went to a practitioner, and asked for treatment, and also asked her to forgive me for the things I had said about Christian Science. She said that there was nothing to forgive, that I did not understand what Christian Science is or I never would have said the things I did about it. She treated me, and within two weeks I was entirely healed.

I feel very grateful for the physical healing, but more grateful to God for the spiritual inspiration which I have received through the study of the Bible together with the Christian Science text-book. I have also received much help from reading the Sentinel and Journal. I hope I may prove my gratitude by living the truth taught by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy.
