I have been helped so much by the testimonies given in the Sentinel and Journal, that I want to tell a little of what Christian Science has done for me. I had been told that Christian Science was nothing but evil, and so great was my prejudice against Mrs. Eddy's book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," that I would not so much as touch it. There came a time, however, when I felt I must do something, and I finally decided to read this book, which was then in the home. I had read only a few pages when I was freed from all the burdens of doubt and distress, and was happier than I had been for years, for I had found the truth.

I had studied eagerly for about one month when I had convincing proof of God's care in every time of need. I was thrown from a runaway horse one evening, and after regaining consciousness I discovered that I was unable to stand, as one ankle seemed to be severely injured. Through my attempt to realize God's presence, and the utilization of what little understanding of the "scientific statement of being" (Science and Health, p. 468) I had thus far gained, I was able to rest all night, and the next morning was entirely free, no sign of the accident being left. Since then I have had many proofs of healing through divine law, but of far more value to me is the spiritual food which each day comes to me through the study of the Bible, which has become a new book to me, and Science and Health. I find too, that the understanding of Christian Science which I have gained is a wonderful help while teaching in the schoolroom.

Words could not express my gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, who has shown us the true God, but I trust that I may prove my gratitude by helping others to realize their heritage as children of the one Father.
