Lest we forget that friendship's gentle hand...

Lest we forget that friendship's gentle hand
Has sealed a tie unbroken through the years,
Christ speaks to us, and, lo, we understand
The wings of freedom from a flight of fears.
Lest we forget, dear God, we owe to Thee
All love, all joy, all mental harmony;
The vast experience of those other years
When storms were stilled and many nameless fears
Were hushed in victory.
Lest we forget that in Thy perfect peace
Is all we need and all we can express.
Amid our restlessness Thy healing stream
Flows on in rest fulness.
