When I think of the seventeen years passed in pain and intense suffering, which the doctors said was caused from female weakness and heart disease, I feel that I must tell others of my healing in Christian Science. I was told that there was no hope of my ever having a living child, as we had lost three from premature birth; and while the kindness and sympathy of the doctors were appreciated, yet not a ray of light or hope was held out to me. When finally a baby was born, it suffered as much as a child could possibly and live. My husband was then told by a friend of her having been permanently healed by Christian Science of rheumatism of long standing (while in her seventy-second year), and she begged him to have me try it, as he was constantly dwelling on my helplessness and suffering. I, however, said that I could not be helped,—that it was too late; but that, if Christian Science explained the Bible, I might get some comfort in my last hours. Thank God, I, too, have been permanently healed by Christian Science, and so has our child, who is now over ten years old.
