Feeling that I have been greatly benefited through the ministrations of Christian Science, I willingly add my testimony, hoping it may be an inspiration to others in need as I was, to find out for themselves that God is the "great Physician" and ever-present helper. In December, 1907, I was taken to a hospital, where I underwent a very severe operation, from which the doctors said it would take months fully to recover. Three weeks after the first operation, the doctors thought it necessary to operate again for internal trouble, as there was fear of blood-poisoning; but from this I was saved through the help of a sister who is a Christian Scientist.

Just one week later I was taken home in an ambulance, unable to sit up and with doctor's orders not to do anything for eight or ten weeks after I grew strong enough to be up. The next morning, however, I began to read Science and Health, and through doing so I was led to call for the help of a practitioner. I began to sit up the day after my first treatment, and gained steadily, even assisting in the housework. Two weeks from that time I felt equal to taking a trip to Chicago, where I visited the Christian Science churches and enjoyed myself, being quite free from my former fears; whereas, before I took up Christian Science, fear and worry kept sickness in the family almost constantly.

I am stronger and better in health than ever before, for all of which I am profoundly grateful to God, and also to our dear Leader, who has so faithfully shown us the way.
