"THE HEARING EAR"
In the book of Proverbs we find this significant saying, "The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the Lord hath made even both of them." It is quite possible that many may regard this as merely a reference to the material sense of hearing and sight, but rather does it point away from material sense to the spiritual, and thus it recalls the Master's words, "They seeing see not; and hearing they hear not;" and again, "Who hath ears to hear, let him hear." In Revelation we read again and again, "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith." The thought of the hearing ear also recalls the words of our dear Leader's hymn,—
I will listen for Thy voice,
Lest my footsteps stray.
