AMONG THE CHURCHES

The edifice for First Church of Christ, Scientist, is now completed, and it will be opened for worship with a lecture on Christian Science, Nov. 21, by Prof. Hermann S. Hering. Like all Christian Science churches the Willmar church was founded on healing. It had a rather unusual start in that it was begun entirely by men. Nine men who, one after another, had found help in Christian Science, met together every Sunday to read the Lessons for nearly three years before a single woman became interested. The church was organized in the spring of 1903 with fourteen charter members.

The new church is a beautiful structure. It is the result of much earnest work and generous giving on the part of the members. It is situated on one of the best corner lots in the city, on the south side of the court house square. The reading-room is in the church. There is a full basement under the church, and this will eventually be used for a Sunday School room. The total cost of the building and lot is $8000.—Willmar Tribune.
