Least of all persons in the world can Christian Scientists be charged with substituting "imagination for faith." To them the answer of Peter to the Master, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God," is the truth about him and the office he performed, and it is upon this truth that the church is founded. This acceptance is not based upon a blessing to be enjoyed in an uncertain way at an uncertain time, but upon the fact that we have found that obedience to the law as he declared it, in accordance with the methods he pointed out, brings present fulfilment of the promises he made. The lame do walk, the blind have their sight restored, the lepers are cleansed, all the discords that are thought to be the dominating factor in human experience vanish, and we know that the Christ is with us and will be, "even unto the end of the world."
