For about fifteen years I had suffered from rheumatic...

For about fifteen years I had suffered from rheumatic and stomach trouble. About three years ago I had an attack which lasted about five weeks, during which time I was allowed to eat only the lightest food. I had the attention of one who was known as a leading physician of the town, but without any relief. At that time one of the firm was required to go to Kansas City, Mo., on business. As I was too weak to do any hard work, and it was thought the trip would do me good, I was chosen to go.

When I arrived at Kansas City, I went to see a cousin who is a Christian Scientist. After telling her my troubles and what I had come for, she told me to eat anything that was placed before me and she would help me until I returned home. About half an hour after I had left her I sat down to what is called a good, hearty German meal, and I want to say that I ate as much as two men generally eat, seeing that I was almost starved. After dinner I looked for the pain, but it never returned. When I returned home I employed a Christian Science practitioner, and after three weeks' treatment I was healed of the rheumatic trouble. I am thankful to say that with my slight understanding, and with "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," I have been able to meet all physical troubles that have since come up, as well as to receive mental comfort. I am thankful for the literature of this Science, and the benefits to be derived therefrom. I never miss the church services as I find them very helpful.
