Our baby girl had been ailing for some time with a serious bowel trouble, and as it was her second summer conditions were considered very serious. We were looking for her to pass on at any time, as the physician said he could give us no more hope. At this time a neighbor, who was a Christian Scientist, called, and asked us to try Christian Science treatment for her. We were in such absolute ignorance of this teaching, that we did not know a baby could have treatment, but supposed the patient would have to be a person who could understand and have faith. However, this dear woman's presence inspired us with courage, and we were glad to have her try to help the child. She asked us to leave her alone with the baby and she stayed with the child that night from nine to eleven o'clock. She then came out of the bedchamber and told us that all was well with our dear little one that she was resting quietly, and that she would likely remain asleep until the next morning. She also advised us to go and rest. The baby slept all night, and awakened between eight and nine the next morning greatly improved. When our doctor arrived he could not understand her rapid and strange recovery. The practitioner gave the child a treatment each morning and evening and she soon recovered her health. We have also noticed a sweetness and quietness to her disposition, while previously she had a certain nervousness and irritability from her illness.

We feel that Christian Science cured our little one, and through the knowledge of its healing efficacy which we obtained from that experience, we realize the wonderful power of divine Love. We have the text-book, Science and Health, and although we have not united with the church, we are thankful for the blessings we have received in Christian Science and we are firm believers in its healing power.—May T.
