For about eleven years my only healer has been "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. When our Leader's writings were handed me by a kind friend (with whom I am now privileged to be a coworker), I at once recognized what I had always desired to know, viz., how Jesus healed the multitudes. By reading the Christian Science literature, in faith believing, I was healed of many ailments,—severe stomach trouble of years' standing, rheumatic and neuralgic trouble, headaches. All these thorns of the flesh left me, and the habit of constantly worrying, which was worse than physical suffering, was overcome completely. I had also worn eye-glasses for fourteen years, and was unable to do any kind of work which required the use of my eyes without them. It took longer to lay aside the glasses than to getrid of the other errors, principally because I was so anxious to read all I could about Christian Science. I felt impatient at spending so much time in trying to read several sentences without glasses; but finally I came to see that it was time gained to read ever so little without them, and when I did this I found that each day I was able to see better and read more. It was only a short time until I was able to do all kinds of work, even sewing or anything that required close application. This was about ten years ago, and I do rejoice in the understanding that sight is spiritual.

At a time when grief seemed so intense that nothing in the whole world could bring comfort, Christian Science, as revealed to this age, was proved to me beyond a doubt to be the promised Comforter. It brought me sweet rest and peace, so much so that my tears were dried and sorrow turned into joy in giving comfort to others. At first a copy of the Journal, and then "Miscellaneous Writings," were my constant companions. Later I became the owner of a copy of Science and Health, which together with the Bible has been my healer, my preacher, my friend, my guide, and my counselor day by day. For all these blessings, and many more that Christian Science has brought to me and others, I am daily grateful. Above all, I am so glad that this teaching dawned upon my consciousness as the truth.
