THE LECTURES
A large and appreciative audience listened to a lecture on Christian Science delivered by Edward A. Kimball at the Philharmonic Hall, Southampton, on Sunday evening, April 26. The lecturer was introduced by Colonel Hailes, who said that while he was not himself a Christian Scientist, he could speak of cases of wonderful healing by this means which had come under his notice, and especially that of one who was very dear to him. He was glad to avail himself of this opportunity of learning more of this subject, as no doubt were the audience also.—Correspondence.
On Wednesday afternoon last week [April 15] the Aldershot Theater Royal was packed from floor to ceiling by one of the most fashionable gatherings ever seen in the building, to hear 3 lecture on Christian Science by Mr. Edward A. Kimball. Long before the hour of commencement the audience began to fill the theater in every part, and fifteen minutes before the lecture began the only available accommodation was in the pit and gallery. Probably the audience was one of the most attentive that has ever filled the theater. Soldiers and civilians sat in the orchestra stalls and in the circle, while aristocratic ladies and garrison officers were content with seats in the pit or amphitheater, but all were rapt in their attention during the discourse.
