If it were more generally known that the dreaded malady seasickness is absolutely preventable by Christian Science treatment, doubtless many would resort to this beneficent ministry, as no other means has heretofore availed to protect those who are susceptible to this peculiar form of suffering. My own experience justifies me in testifying to the power of Christian Science practice in belief of this distressing infliction. In crossing the Atlantic several years ago, I did not recover from the effects of an attack of seasickness for three months, both in going to and returning from Europe. On another occasion, going from the State of Washington to California, I did not leave my berth from Victoria to San Francisco, and for four days I could take nothing but olives and ice. It is needless to say that I returned to Tacoma by rail.
Three years ago I made my first trip to Florida by sea, having taken this journey many times before by rail. Nothing would have induced me to undertake another sea voyage, had I not recently begun to apprehend the saving truths of Christian Science, and I could think of no better test of its efficacy. The result was marvelous. While many of the passengers were ill, I was able to eat heartily and with relish three times a day, and my return trip was equally successful. I have recently made my third trip with equal success, and now I can testify to the effectiveness of this wonder-working Science in the cure of seasickness. I have also been healed of periodical headaches, a painful injury to the ankle, and other ills.
There is further advance to be made before I can claim my freedom as Christ promised, but patience must have its perfect work and Love will have the victory. Surely this teaching is the truest knowing of Christ, and our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, is the one whom God has chosen to usher in the day of Truth's renewed appearing.
