I am thankful indeed for all that Christian Science has...
I am thankful indeed for all that Christian Science has done for me. It has healed my physical ailments,—and they were many,—and uplifted and regenerated me in a most wonderful manner. I had been a sufferer for many years, and the many physicians whom I consulted with one exception diagnosed the case as a nervous disease. This trouble finally culminated in a paralytic attack, the whole right side being more or less affected. Although from the very first I had as good medical attention as could be obtained, I gradually grew worse, and at the end of five months I was unable to go to the doctor's office any longer for treatment. As he could give me no encouragement whatever, I concluded to try Christian Science, and to make a long story short, in thirteen days from the time I began treatment I was able to resume my employment, not entirely healed but able to work.
I procured a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and began the earnest study of Christian Science. As I gained a little understanding of the healing Principle, the sense of numbness gradually disappeared, until in about three months I was entirely free from it. I had been addicted to the use of tobacco for more than forty years, but this appetite was entirely destroyed during these three months. I was also afflicted with a lame foot, which had given me much trouble for a period of eight years, and a chronic asthmatic trouble; but all these, with numerous other ailments, were entirely destroyed later on, as I gained in the understanding of this scientific truth. Although nearly six years have passed since my healing, none of these ailments has ever returned; therefore I thank God every day for the many blessings which Christian Science has brought to me.
I feel thankful to Mrs. Eddy for having made the truth of being so plain that all who will may avail themselves of it, and I consider it the greatest privilege I have ever had to be known as a student of the writings of the Discoverer, Founder, and Leader of Christian Science.
