Mrs. Eddy has chosen a propitious time in which to make known her plan to found a Christian Science institution for the special benefit of the poor and the general good of mankind at a cost of at least one million dollars. It is an imposing manifestation of good-will and sympathy for the poor and needy that is in harmony with the spirit of the Christmas season. And it will far toward meeting the reproach from the critics of the cult, that hitherto its ministrations have been largely restricted to the well-to-do class.
