Four years ago I brought a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and after reading the book for several months, without having any treatment, I laid aside eye-glasses which I had worn for thirteen years. Less than a year previous a competent oculist had told me that I had a serious eye trouble and he gave me stronger glasses. Since the time I stopped wearing them I have used my eyes constantly in work and study, and they have steadily grown stronger. Later, and with much faithful, loving help, I was healed of chronic throat trouble and colds, and recently I have found myself free from headaches with which I had suffered for ten years, also from a trouble at the base of the brain, supposedly brought on by mental and physical strain. Numerous diagnoses, with various prescriptions and various remedies, had failed to cure these disorders. During the period in which these conditions disappeared I was doing difficult work for which I had not been trained and which was very confining. I was under heavy pressure, yet I finished the work successfully and in a better mental and physical state than when I started. Within the last few months the effects of a former illness, which at times made me almost lame, have also been healed. Four physicians had tried to help me, but had given only temporary relief.

I have known instantaneous healing, healing by absent treatment, and have had the great joy of being the avenue of healing to others. One of the most precious things to me has been the mental. healing through Christian Science. I have been set free from mental restlessness, from petty ambitions, self-will, personal dependence, and I have seen unhappiness, bitterness, discord, limitations,—mental, physical, and financial, —overcome, proving that "Science, the sunshine of Truth, will melt away the shadow and reveal the celestial peaks" (Science and Health, p. 299). I am so grateful to God for the truth of being, so grateful to have a definite understanding of demonstrable Principle to work toward and to share with others, so glad to know that perfection and happiness can be attained here and now through selfless service to God and man.

That all God's children may be lifted up to know the dominion and birthright that is theirs, and to understand the spiritual consciousness demonstrated by Christ Jesus and made possible for us to comprehend by our beloved Leader—this is my daily, earnest prayer.
