At the end of eight years' study of Christian Science, I...
At the end of eight years' study of Christian Science, I find myself more willing than ever to be a soldier of God, for I am learning every day how to pray as Christ Jesus taught, with signs following. I came to Christian Science after the doctors had declared that an operation was all that could relieve my suffering. I was so weak at the time that they wanted me to be treated for a month for strength to stand the operation. When my husband came home one afternoon and said he had been to see a Christian Science practitioner, I laughed in scorn, for I thought I could receive no help from Christian Science. Imagine my surprise to wake up the next morning without a single shadow of pain or trouble of any kind, and we have never resorted to medicine since I was healed. I am often asked how I can trust my children, two little boys, so entirely without fear, to Christian Science. My answer is that no parents think anything too good for their children, and I know I have the best. I thank God and our dear Leader for Christian Science, and hope so to live that I may prove my gratitude to God by my works.
Mrs. Mary Maverick Sammons, Austin, Tex.
