I wish to express my gratitude for our Lesson-Sermons. One which we had recently I found to be so powerful, so uplifting, that I was enabled to overcome a very severe ailment by its study. One morning I went to business as usual, but toward lunch time I began to get terrible pains in the head, which soon after became worse, extending through the entire body. I kept up, however, and no one suspected that I was having a severe struggle. At 5.30 I was just able to get home, and when I arrived there I seemed to have a very high fever. I retired to my room and began to read the Lesson, although it seemed almost impossible to do so. I read on, however, and when I came to page 215 (1st to 3d line), in Science and Health, such a sense of peace came unto me, and as the spiritual meaning of these words dawned on my consciousness I knew that I was healed. I went through the entire Lesson that evening, retired soon after, slept soundly all night, and in the morning I was in my usual good health. I am also grateful for the overcoming of a fear of drafts. Although I have been in Science about seven years, I was only able to overcome this fear a few months ago. I was also healed of chronic stomach and catarrhal trouble of long standing,—the result of wrong thinking toward God and my neighbor. In taking up Christian Science I found that it meant right thinking and right living, and that if we live and think rightly we cannot help but be right. I also found that Christian Science is the teaching of Jesus put into practice, which was given to the world by our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy. My daily prayer is, that the love of all mankind may reflect toward her whom God has inspired to voice this truth to all peoples.
