Christian Science teaches that God is good—is eternal...
Christian Science teaches that God is good—is eternal Principle—God is Life! God is All in all. He is absolute. A God of eternal goodness cannot know evil. Such teaching means inspiration; it is the gospel of good cheer. Where love abounds the demon of fear ceases to exist; life takes on new shape with the new thought; the over-anxious worry and carking care take wings. Tennyson's dream was that sometime, somewhere, good should come,—
At last—far off—at last, to all,
And every winter change to spring.
Now as I understand Christian Science it is this dream in the present tense. We are now in eternity. Death does not fix destiny so but that—not sometime, somewhere, "far off," but right here in this eternal now—God is, and we His children may enjoy the privilege of that eternal conscious life.
There is no warfare between our rational gospel and Christian Science—at least the ultimate is the same. We are conscious of minor differences, but the great vital principles are the same. Truth is one, error is many; like the gentle light, Truth will penetrate, vivify, quicken "until the day break, and the shadows flee away."
