I first heard of Christian Science about twenty years ago, when "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, was brought to me to read. After a few weeks I returned it to the owner, and said that some time I might be able to understand it, but I could not then. Once again the book was brought to me and again returned, though I always felt there was something in it which at some time I would understand. Seven years ago that time came; but I went to get the book—it was not brought to me. Then I realized that I had not really read it before—I had merely tried to find something in it that agreed with my own opinions and beliefs. Now I resolved to set them all aside, and to read it with a thought open to receive the truth. It is needless to say I found it, and now wonder how I ever existed without it. I have had many demonstrations of the power of this truth to overcome error in all phases of human experience, and I will tell of one where the healing was instantaneous. Before I came to Science a severe form of rheumatic trouble had caused me much suffering at intervals, so that one morning, when I found myself confronted with this problem, I knew what it was without a physician's diagnosis. I could not see a Christian Science practitioner until afternoon, and then was obliged to go to her office. As I could take the car at my door and ride to very near hers, ordinarily it was not much of a journey, but that day it seemed long and arduous. By the time I reached her I seemed to be in torture. I only said to her, "I have brought you a very sick woman." During the treatment every particle of pain left me, and I realized I was free, perfectly and instantaneously healed. I walked home, a distance of over a half mile, but the physical release was small compared to the beautiful spiritual realization of ever-present Love that came to me during that treatment.

I want to express my gratitude for our periodicals and Lesson-Sermons, and I know the best expression of gratitude to our Leader is in the daily desire to reflect more love and to follow more closely her wise guidance.
