Mrs. Eddy and the Christian Scientists are not the only persons in the world who disparage drugs in the treatment of disease. The greatest living physician and surgeon, Professor Osler of Oxford, formerly of Baltimore, has made a speech in which he said that the best doctor is he who knows the worthlessness of medicine. Only four of the drugs in the pharmacopoeia, according to Doctor Osler, have any therapeutic value. All the others do more harm than good. This may explain the cures that are unquestionably wrought by Christian Science.

Like can only comprehend like. When you cease to be finite, you become one with the Infinite. You realize this union, this identity. Things that exalt the soul,—such as beauty, poetry, music, prayer, devotion,—all assist, till we stand in the immediate presence of the Infinite, who shines out from the deeps of the Soul.
