It is now about twenty years since the truth came with its healing beams to my consciousness. A chronic invalidism, marked by occasional serious and alarming conditions, necessitated several surgical operations by specialists, culminating in the "rest-cure," taken at Rhita at very great expense. This, in addition to the preceding expensive operations, electrical treatments, etc., made in all a small fortune in medical bills, and resulted in very little alleviation of my ills. This brought me at last to Christian Science, which restored me to health, strength, and usefulness. Now for these many years I have, without medical treatment or any material reliance whatever, although formerly a spinal brace had to be worn to keep me up, been able to undergo fatigue in traveling, exposure, and loss of sleep,—experiences that have been quite wonderful,—and which have elicited much comment, as ordinarily the same conditions would seemingly have imperiled my life.

With unfailing gratitude to our dear Leader for added years of comfort and usefulness, I rejoice to follow in the light that through her has been revealed to us.
