I first heard of Christian Science nearly four years...
I first heard of Christian Science nearly four years ago, at which time I was in a wretched condition of physical health, never having recovered my strength after two operations which had been performed in 1898. I also suffered very much with stomach trouble, and a day never passed but I took medicine for some ailment, especially headache. When I heard of Christian Science, and it was explained to me, I knew it was the truth, and I determined from that moment to be a Christian Scientist. From that day to this I have not used any kind of a material remedy, and I can honestly say that Christian Science has never failed me. Instead of being a nervous, delicate woman, obliged to rest for two or three hours every day and unable to walk any distance, I am strong and well. I go to business all day, am on my feet the greater part of the time, and hardly know the feeling of fatigue. But, tremendous as are the physical benefits, they are as nothing to the spiritual joy which Christian Science has brought to us; it has taught us where real happiness lies, and every one in our household is honestly trying to overcome self and to bring forth the fruits of the Spirit.
To dear Mrs. Eddy my heart goes out in love and loyalty. I feel that to her purity of life and her clearness of vision I owe all that I have and all that I am. Actions speak more strongly than words, and I am trying to show my gratitude as she would have me.
