For about forty years I was a slave to the tobacco...

For about forty years I was a slave to the tobacco habit, having often tried to quit it, especially since I came into Christian Science three years ago. On account of the seeming reaction on my nerves and heart, I had treatment by a practitioner, and still failed to overcome the habit. The day after Christmas I felt that I had to quit tobacco. I went at it, determined to conquer at any cost, and my wife and I made the demonstration. Since this experience I have had no trouble with my heart or nerves, and I have gained fifteen pounds in weight. I am mounting upward as on eagle's wings. The gratitude I offer to God, and to His chosen one, our beloved Leader, is a fuller consecration of all I have or am to the Cause of Truth.
