This morning as we sang in church our Leader's hymn, "O'er Waiting Harpstrings of the Mind" (Christian Science Hymnal, 179), my heart responded with an earnest desire to fulfil the closing words, "Some daily good to do, to Thine, for Thee," and the desire remained like an unspoken prayer. On returning home I opened the current Sentinel, and found therein a most helpful article on "True Giving," and the thought came to me that I had the real treasure, and could give of it now; that thus I might help to answer the prayer. This treasure is the understanding of Life, Truth, and Love which has come to me through the patient, self-sacrificing labors of our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and through the inspired wisdom of her book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."

It is fourteen years since I first realized physical healing through Christian Science. At that time I was healed of a severe eye trouble, taking off a pair of powerful glasses at the first treatment and never having use for them again. I was engaged in art work that required close and constant application, and had suffered intensely not only in my eyes, but through my head. The relief was immediate, and I suffered no further inconvenience. All my life I had been in delicate health, at times a great invalid, and when the truth first came to me I was on the Pacific coast, having gone there in search of health. After the healing of my eyes I took up the study of Christian Science, and from the first my improvement was marked and steady. I never had any treatment from a practitioner, but through the reading and study of our text-book, and by applying the understanding thereof as it came to me, one ailment after another disappeared, until in less than two years I was a well woman physically and mentally. The dark shadows had disappeared, and I was no longer a burden to myself and to others, but rejoicing in the knowledge that existence is eternal, a forever unfolding of God's goodness.

From early childhood I had pondered on the things of God, and found no answer in the teaching of the churches; still, amid darkness, doubts, and physical and mental suffering, I felt that some day I should understand. That day and the longed-for understanding have come. In Christian Science is the answer to all the perplexing questions of the ages. No one can drink of this fountain and go thirsting away. Is any sick or sin-laden, weary or discouraged, doubting or despairing? To that dear one I can joyfully say, Come, and lay the burden down at the feet of Christ, Truth, who will heal you. Fourteen years of daily experience in relying on divine Love, as understood in Christian Science, for every need enables me to testify truthfully to its unfailing help. May Love carry this message to some hungering heart; some weary searcher for the truth find the light and walk therein. Too deep for words is the understanding and appreciation of our beloved Leader, in what she has done and is doing for God and mankind.
