INFINITIES

A drop of opalescent dew
Reflects entire the varied hue
Of rainbow, sun, and sky;
The fine essential fragrance sweet
Of nature's perfumed store replete,
Is the violet's supply.

The tender impulse to be kind,
Which in the human heart we find,
Is Love's high tide wave's crest,—
The tremor of unerring power
That guides the planets hour by hour—
Is God, by man expressed.
