Christian Science was brought to my notice about a year...
Christian Science was brought to my notice about a year ago. My first impression of it was unfavorable, but in spite of this I sought a practitioner to gain the physical relief which I had not found through medical treatment. During the conversation with the Scientist I was conscious of a ring of truth such as I had not heard before. There was a gleam of light which then seemed very far away, but that glimpse of something for which I had always longed could not be taken from me, and it has been steadily growing brighter. I left the practitioner, and anxiously awaited the time for my next visit, which proved to be the beginning of much good, both physically and spiritually. I have tried not to be "a sluggard in the race" (Science and Health, p. 22), and I have found that by working out our own salvation God works with us to this end. It has indeed been so in my case. I am entirely healed of serious eye trouble, having worn glasses constantly for eleven years, but now have no further use for them; also of rheumatic and internal trouble, besides many minor ailments. My gratitude to God and to Mrs. Eddy cannot be put into words, for giving us "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."—Mrs. Ida R. Strauss, Cleveland, O.
