With a glad heart, filled with gratitude for all Christian Science...

With a glad heart, filled with gratitude for all Christian Science has done for me, I testify of my healing. During the autumn of last year I was taken with severe nervous trouble supposedly caused by overexertion. The physicians advised me to go into the country for rest, or else to a sanitarium. As I desired to be freed from this trouble as soon as possible, I decided to go to the latter, hoping thus to be entirely well in at least six weeks, as the leading physician told me that I would passed surely be restored in that time, but after those weeks had passed my trouble proved to be better; indeed it seemed worse. I therefore determined to leave the sanitarium and continue my treatment at home. Troublesome days and hours followed; one ailment after another crept in, and existence became a torment to me.

I knew but a very little of Christian Science, and although a relative had been entirely healed by it of a severe malady, yet I could not make up my mund to seek help in this way. I endeavored to forget my suffering through travel, work, and pleasure; and did experience some well days, but a severe relapse soon followed. One day when I was suffering terribly, I cast aside all doubt about the efficacy of Christian Science and turned to it for treatment. A few days later I journeyed to Berlin to receive present treatment, and I must confess that I have found more than I could hope for. I arrived on a Wednesday and attended the Christian Science meeting in the evening. It made a never-to-be-forgotten impression upon me. In looking around I saw happy and joyful faces everywhere, and a desire rose within me to find the same happiness and contentment. To-day I am just as happy, and I have this happiness through Christian Science. After the first few treatments a blessed sense of restfulness came to me. which I had not felt for months. The thoughts of fear disappeared more and more, and on the fifth day I was amidst the turmoil of a large city for six hours. I improved every day, and after four weeks' treatment I was almost entirely well and could joyfully return home to my family. I wanted to work out the rest myself through the study of Christian Science and the reading of Der Herold. In this I have been successful, and now I have been active again for six months in my professional work. Everything is easier for me; I do all my work with more joy, and all my actions are prompted by nobler motives. I am deeply grateful to God for Christian Science and its noble Discoverer, Mrs. Eddy, and I am endeavoring to understand Christian Science better. It is precious thing to know the truth, and still more precious to live it.
