When our physician and a New York specialist decided...
When our physician and a New York specialist decided that our little girl had a serious lung trouble. I decided to call a Christian Science practitioner. We had never had any experience with Christian Science treatment before, and the conditions seemed very alarming. Nothing could rouse the child; she seemed insensible to touch or sound. Our regular physician still called, but did nothing,—indeed he seemed to be in doubt what to do; so after the Scientist had called several times, she advised me to dismiss the doctor. We did so, and the next morning the child opened her eyes and recognized her father. From that time she gradually manifested more and more intelligence, but the senses all seemed impaired. She did not see or hear right, and the sense of touch, and also of taste, was imperfect. Slowly but surely, however, she responded to the power of ever-present Love. When she was up and dressed she had to learn to walk and talk and laugh, but the treatment was continued until health was manifested.
