With a heart full of love and gratitude to God, and to...
With a heart full of love and gratitude to God, and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, I give my testimony of healing. For over two years I suffered with severe pains in my heart, which became so bad that I used to be afraid to go out anywhere, and often at night I have had to sit up for two and three hours at a time. I went to two doctors, both of whom told me that I had serious heart trouble and that I must be very careful what I ate, in fact there was hardly a thing I could eat. I took a great deal of medicine, but was no better. I also had to give up my daily work. A friend then advised me to try Christian Science, but I would not hear of it. I thought that if doctors and medicine could not cure me nothing else could. Several months later I awoke one morning with an eruption all over my face, and after I had washed it became worse. I went to a doctor and he gave me some ointment, also a bottle of medicine. At the end of that week my face was much worse and the disease had spread all over my body. I was again advised to try Christian Science, to give up materia medica and turn to God for help, and I decided to try it. Apparently without any faith in this, to me, new teaching, I went to see a practitioner and had treatment for these troubles. In three days the eruption and all its manifestations had entirely disappeared. I continued treatment for the heart trouble for two months, at the end of which time I was completely healed. I have never had any return of either of them since; that is, over a year ago.
I am indeed thankful to be relieved from the continual bondage to fear which always prevented my enjoyment of life. I have had many proofs of the healing power of this beautiful truth taught in Christian Science, and I know that the only way I can express my gratitude is to strive each day to reflect more of infinite Love.
