I would like to send this testimony to the Field through...
I would like to send this testimony to the Field through gratitude to God, and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, also for the sake of suffering humanity. My first intention was to wait until I had realized the eternal truth that error does not exist because "God is all," but I have since thought that every blessing should be acknowledged in our journey from sense to Soul, which road I am surely if slowly travelling. For fourteen or fifteen years I had been a constant sufferer from stomach and bowel trouble with its various attendat ills; sometimes in bed, almost always suffering, and dieting most of the time. I had also passed through an operation. Now, through Christian Science, I am strong, and have gained much physically. Since accepting this truth, I have often helped myself and others through persistent declaring of the truth and the understanding gained from the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I am also learning, with the help of that "little book," to overcome errors of character, though the struggle is sometimes long and hard, but I remember that God is always near to help us. Overcoming of self must go on without cessation, and the admonition of our dear Leader, to remember the Master's words, "watch, and pray," is the best help to keep us in the straight road.
Mrs. E. L. Scheel, Christiansted, St. Croix, D. W. L
Three years ago, when suffering from a so-called incurable disease, I prayed in desperation for release, even in death; but God in His wisdom gave me life, and I was led to Christian Science through the healing of some friends. I have been mentally, morally, and physically regenerated. My healing at times seemed slow, but Christian Science gave me hope, and it was just here that materia medica had failed. The thought that as I grew older I would gradually become worse was changed to the understanding of a divine Principle that heals permanently. Many times each day I think of Mrs. Eddy with love and gratitude for this truth, which lifted me from disease and discouragement to health and happiness.
