THE LECTURES

At the Hotel Green last evening [Oct. I] Rev. Arthur R. Vosburgh addressed a large audience on the subject of Christian Science. In introducing the speaker Henry Van Arsdale said in part,—

It is said that the topography of the Holy Land is very similar to that of this section in which we live. The great sea on one side, the mountains and the desert on the other; between, the fertile valleys with prosperous communities at the vantage-points. The same semitropical climate, the same ever-blue sky, the same loving, heavenly Father over all. We can easily imagine the figure of the great Teacher, with his healing and saving touch, as he went about doing the works of his Father and our Father. Friends, the same spirit of the Christ is here to-day, in these valleys and everywhere, to heal and to save. It will be manifest here to-night in the truth of the speaker's words, to every man who is honest with himself. It is for all who are in need and it is without respect of persons.—The Pasadena Star.
