To say Christian Scientists lack a definite faith and that they deny the divinity of Jesus Christ is so far from their faith and teachings that it is a great surprise that any minister would make such a statement. The fact is that the Christian Scientists believe Jesus Christ to be the Son of God. and that he meant what he said when he promised to be with his followers even unto the end. Man's conscience has ever been the companion of his reason, to lead him unharmed over the great, broad way of progress, and will not forsake him now, just as he is passing into the age of religious liberty and the freedom of thought. As he rises above the dark domain of religious tyranny and cruelty, neither his wisdom nor his valor will forsake him, but will be sufficient for all needs of both religion and affairs of state in the future as they have through all the tempest and the night of the frightful and bloody past. This glorious march must continue, guided by the noblest thoughts, till earth is redeemed and mankind find the infinite source and divine origin of man's being.
