I first heard of Christian Science almost twelve years...
I first heard of Christian Science almost twelve years ago. From the first it appealed to me as being the truth. After reading for a short time in Science and Health, I laid the book down and said, "Father if this is Thy way, I am willing to give up my way and accept Thine." Immediately the room seemed to be illuminated, and I was conscious of a peace and happiness that is beyond words to express. I have since seen many instantaneous demonstrations of the power of Truth over disease for myself and others. In March, 1906, my husband met with an accident in which his head was badly injured. The doctor dressed the wound for a week, at the end of which time there was no sign of healing. The doctor was then dismissed and the case was given entirely to Christian Science for treatment. The demonstration of healing was made that night, and the next morning the cavity was filled out with flesh, and a smooth skin had formed over it. In a short time the scar disappeared. At another time acid was accidentally splashed into both of his eyes, burning them severely. The pain was immediately overcome through Christian Science and he went on with his laboratory work within a half hour after the accident. The next morning all trace of the inflammation had disappeared, except one tiny spot no larger than a pin head. A short time before this a friend of his lost the sight of one eye and finally had to have the eyeball removed, from being burnt by the same kind of acid. Numerous other demonstrations of the power of Truth could be added to these, but greater than the physical healing is the spiritual uplifting that has been gained through the study of our text-book "Science and Health with key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.—Mrs. Alice Swisher, Montgomery, Ala.
