I rejoice to testify to my healing in Christian Science
I rejoice to testify to my healing in Christian Science. I am glad to be a living witness for the truth that has made me free. In the summer of 1900 I was taken seriously ill, and after much advice of family and friends, I consented to see our family doctor. After hearing all about my case, he shook his head and said he would have to make an examination. This took place, and to my surprise and sorrow he informed me I had an abnormal growth, and that, as this was entirely out of his line, I would have to go to a hospital and be operated on. He also said it must not be delayed. This I refused to do, having an antipathy to hospitals and the taking of ether, as I felt I would not come out of the effects. It was therefore a very serious time. I knew, however, that nothing is impossible to God, and it was in a moment of great distress that I turned to God in prayer, believing that He would lead me; and my prayer was answered. Perfect peace came, and I turned to Christian Science. The next morning I sent for a practitioner, and although I went through deep waters, I was healed in eleven months. I have tested the efficacy of divine Truth, and the promise was made good to me, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
How my love and gratitude go out to our beloved Leader, who pressed on through thorny paths to give to the world the best news that has ever come to light. Words cannot express my gratitude for all this truth has done for me.
Mrs. Elizabeth P. McNab, Brooklyn, N. Y.
